Product Description
Opting for the convenience of packaged home theater doesn’t mean you have to
compromise on quality. With the new HT-S6200 receiver/speaker package, you get advanced A/V processing and
amplification with the Onkyo stamp of reliability. The receiver’s four HDMI™ 1.3a inputs handle 1080p video as
well as high-definition surround-sound codecs by DTS and Dolby. Compatibility with Dolby Pro Logic IIz gives you
the option of incorporating front height channels into your home theater set-up. Meanwhile, onboard Audyssey
equalization and volume technologies adapt the soundstage to the dimensions of your room and maintain clarity at
different loudness levels. A proprietary Universal Port allows single-cable connection of the included Dock for
the iPod or an optional Onkyo HD Radio™ tuner. Low-end frequencies are handled by a 290 W powered subwoofer,
while seven finely matched surround-sound speakers ensure that, whatever playback component you hook up, the
HT-S6200 will deliver a fully immersive home theater experience.
Customer Reviews
To test this product out i put in one of the battle scenes from Lord of the
Rings. My roommate ran upstairs and in my room because he thought someone was being raped. It is awesome. I could
feel every step that an ork was taking. This is my first home theater system and honestly i couldn't ask for any
more. Setup was fairly easy, speaker wires are colored coded to the speakers that they go to, but the wire is very
thin and I think i will upgrade to a 16g wire. If you have a small to average sized room then this is the product
for you. It will blow you away.
Purchased and installed Onkyo HT-S6200 system August 2009 in 12'x24' media room. Mounted all speakers with Sanus
mounts, upgraded (16 gauge) wiring and concealed in ceiling/walls. Integrated InFocus HD projector (with p/d
screen) and a 40" Samsung LCD HDTV. Also connected Panasonic Blu-ray, Wii, and Verizon fios. All work together
seamlessly (purchased Logitech Harmony 520 remote to minimize clutter). With Blu-ray technology this system
delivers a true theater-like experience. Bass booms and audio is clean, clear, and well balanced after tuning with
included mic. Audio adjustments for various listening modes is appreciated. This system delivers and truly fills
the room with a wide range of clear crisp and loud audio. Family and friends are blown away. Overall, I'm very
pleased with Onkyo performance at the price point found. Highly recommend this 7.1 surround sound system.
I bought this audio system after reading all the reviews. All I can say is wow! I just watched Superbowl 44 and the
half-time with the WHO was just amazing. I felt like I was physically there with the crowd. I had my system cranked
up to almost 90% and there wasn't any distortion. It was just clean and awesome. I don't use all the speakers since
my basement entertainment room(16 x 14) is wired to handle 6.1 and not 7.1. But this HT system can be configured as
a 6.1 instead of 7.1. My next upgrade will be to purchase two tower speakers and make my existing front speakers
front-high speakers. Yes, this system can handle two set of front speakers and handle 9 total speakers (2 front
high, 2 front low, 1 center, 2 surround, 2 back and 1 sub!!!)
BTW - This is my second home theater system from Onkyo. i bought a 6.1 system
about 5 years ago that I am still using today as a 3.1 system in our living room and it still sounds great.
Update - I've now had this system for four months. System sounds so good that
we prefer watching movies at home! I also have it hooked up to WD Live and watching movies is extremely
entertaining.
